One of the key objectives in dairy farming is breeding and rearing of healthy young cattle. The probi-otic additives in milk-fed calves diet promotes the development of rumen microflora and facilitates a smooth transition from milk to plant-based feeds. The efficiency of a probiotic depends on feeding regi-men. Current research is aimed at evaluating efficiency of different feeding regimens of a probiotic based on Kluyveromyces marxianus yeast in the feeding of milk-fed calves. For the experiment, three groups of 10 animals each were formed on the paired-analogue method. The diet of the calves in the control group consisted of raw milk, prestarter compound feed, and a grain mixture (basic diet). In addition to the basic diet, the animals in the experimental groups were fed by the “Kluver Pro” probiotic according to the fol-lowing regimens: in the first experimental group – 4 g per calf per day for 120 days; in the second experi-mental group – 5 g per calf per day for the first 60 days, followed by 6 g per calf per day for the remaining 60 days. Normalization of calcium-phosphorus metabolism was observed in the heifers of the experimental groups. By three months of age, the animals in the control group had blood phosphorus levels exceeding the standard reference values, whereas in the heifers receiving the probiotic, calcium and phosphorus lev-els remained within the physiological range. The application of the increasing dosage regimen resulted in a statistically significant increase in blood erythrocyte counts by 28.1 % and hemoglobin levels by 14.9 % compared to the control group. In the frame of the experimental period, the clinical status of the animals in all groups remained within normal limits. The increasing dosage regimen demonstrated a more pro-nounced stimulating effect on hematological parameters compared to the constant administration regi-men, suggesting its recommendation as the optimal approach for achieving a positive physiological effect.
