The objective of the current research was to carry out field experiments to evaluate the effect of the design and technological parameters of a harrow unit equipped with an additional loading and distributing device for a trailed frame disk harrow on the variation of the force load applied to the harrow working unit. The technology of pre-sowing tillage of arable land with disk units varies significantly depending on the agroclimatic conditions of different regions. In regions with complex weather conditions, a combined method is often applied, where topsoil loosening and seed embedding are performed in a single pass. This approach is relevant due to the objective problems with pre-harvest activities, because of a complex of local conditions: prolonged completion of the harvesting campaign, early onset of frosts, mixed precipitation, a shortage of agricultural machinery, and other economic and climatic factors. Thus small farms, due to limited financial resources, usually use such pre-sowing machinery as a Belarus tractor and a BDT-3 heavy disk harrow, so these units were observed as the subjects of the current research. However, during spring preparation activities for sowing, when soil is frozen, additional short-term loading of the BDT-3 harrow working unit is required without extra ballast. The aforementioned problem can be addressed by applying additional devices that have been tested under relevant operating conditions and have approved their efficiency. It was noted that decreasing the inclination angle of the hydraulic cylinder by 12° (relative to its neutral position) resulted in an increase in the load on the harrow working element by 5585 H.
